Welcome to the course "Prevention of Risks Associated with the Digital Space", a unique and inspiring learning experience where the teachers and guides are girl counselors from the Local Councils for Children and Adolescents (CCLONNA) across various localities in Bogotá.

Created as part of the project "20 Voices, One City" (developed by Corporación Germina through the Child Participation Processes Grant from Bogotá's Secretariat of Culture, Recreation, and Sports), this course transforms digital risk prevention into an accessible, dynamic dialogue driven by genuine youth leadership.

What Will You Learn?

  • The course "Prevention of Risks Associated with the Digital Space" is an initiative of Corporación Germina, developed under the Child Participation Processes Grant of the Secretariat of Culture, Recreation, and Sports through the "20 Voices, One City" project.

  • Throughout this hands-on, participatory course, you will learn to:
  • Read virtual signals: Spot how online behavior and attitude shifts reveal risk situations before they escalate into bigger challenges.
  • Detect "Red Flags" and traps: Recognize fake profiles, phishing scams, identity theft, and suspicious requests.
  • Master the Digital Dictionary: Clearly understand key concepts such as grooming, cyberbullying, catfishing, doxxing, and oversharing.
  • Care for your Digital Footprint: Manage your privacy, understand what data you share, and set up your social media accounts safely.
  • Activate Support Networks: Know exactly how to block, report, and reach out for help from trusted adults or institutions.
  • Be a Digital Leader: Champion positive community interactions, empathy, and collective respect across virtual platforms.

Course Content

Chapter One
In this first module, you will discover key insights on preventing risks in the digital space as children and adolescents. Remember, we are all exposed.

Chapter Two
This lesson focuses on identifying "red flags" or warning signs in virtual spaces, spotlighting the main online traps and risks faced by children and adolescents. Through an engaging, practical, and preventive approach, it offers clear guidelines to browse safely and protect your digital well-being.

Chapter Three
This lesson is titled "Stay in the Know: The Digital Hazards Dictionary." Its goal is to empower children and adolescents through mastering the language and essential terms of the digital space. "Staying in the know" means never being caught off guard: understanding the exact names of cyber threats to detect them early, prevent them, and know how to take action.

Chapter Four
This lesson covers the topic "Your Digital Footprint: What You Share Defines You Online." It focuses on empowering young people to become aware of the lasting trace left by their posts, interactions, searches, and photos in the virtual world, teaching them how to manage privacy and build a safe, responsible digital identity.

Chapter Five
This lesson is titled "Support Networks and Cyberbullying: Positive Community and Collective Protection." It focuses on tackling online harassment and fostering safe digital spaces through empathy, peer-to-peer support, the effective use of reporting tools, and activating support networks with trusted adults and institutions.

Chapter Six
This lesson is titled "Digital Commitment and Leadership: Your Voice and Actions Transform the Web." It serves as the summary and call to action of the course, inviting children and adolescents to become digital safety leaders in their communities, schools, and families by embracing an active, ethical, and supportive digital citizenship.
